WHAT IS THE POINT OF tHERAPY?

The challenges we face in life could be major events such as a bereavement, loss of employment or the ending of a relationship. Or it may be due to a new life stage such as adolescence, parenthood, reaching midlife or retirement.

Sometimes we can manage these changes ourselves or with support from family, friends and colleagues. But there are times when we are not comfortable discussing our problems with those close to us. We may feel the need to share our feelings with someone outside our personal and professional network.

Therapy can provide such an outlet.

Having the opportunity and time to look at ourselves with somebody who is objective can be exciting and stimulating. It can allow us to really think about who we are.

This can be a rich and meaningful experience. Therapy can be very illuminating.
